The white marble of Carrara. The most famous and valuable marble of all time is the white marble of Carrara, which takes its name from the homonymous city from which it is extracted. It has a very ancient history, up to the Iron Age, and over the years has gained more and more notoriety. The very famous Pietà by Michelangelo was carved on this marble.
Bardiglio marble is composed of a grey coloured paste. This coloration is given by the widespread presence, in the texture of the rock, of impurities, that is very fine crystals of pyrite. This type of marble is mainly used for the creation of precious floors and coverings, especially for domestic use thanks to its resistance to atmospheric agents.
Black Marquina marble is extracted in Spain: it is a natural stone with a compact black background, with diagonal veins of white or light gray color. It is an extremely popular material for flooring, stairs or interior cladding. Combined with light colored marble, such as Carrara Marble, it offers the possibility to create contrasting floors of a very special beauty.
Each piece is in a way unique (every marble block is different in veins and shades) and handmade by Italian artisans specialized over generations in processing marble. Slight variations in shape, color and size are to be considered a guarantee of an handmade creation. Important: Do not use lemon or vinegar on it, clean only with water and natural soap (like Marseilles soap), do not put in dishwasher. This object gives a distinct touch to your house and can be used in the bathroom; you can surprise the guests by telling its story.
